# Removing margin from an open position
There are two ways to remove margin from an open position:
**1) From the chart**
Grab the Liquidation line and move it to remove margin. \
If you're removing from a long trade, move the line up. \
If you're removing from short trade, move the line down.\
Removing margin from an open position will make your current leverage higher while your position size will remain the same.
**2) From the Edit modal**
To remove margin from your position click on the "Edit " button. \
In the pop-up window select "Remove" and type the amount you want to remove.
Use the drop down menu to choose what stablecoin you want to receive after removing your margin. \
Once you have set your parameters click the "Remove".
