# Opening a position on top of another one

To open a position on top of another one click on the "Edit <img src="https://2808992689-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FAE1MpN6HvVL853xsqgiO%2Fuploads%2FbdZ231HnTJCsM8shLDRU%2Fimage.png?alt=media&#x26;token=caea604b-fe6d-4a31-b666-9ba57ebedc7e" alt="" data-size="line">" button.&#x20;

In the pop-up window type in the "Add to position" section the amount you want to pay.

Opening a new position on top of another will not change your current leverage but your position size will grow. \
If you're adding to a long trade, your opening price will be higher and your liquidation price will be lower.\
If you're adding to a short trade, your opening price will be lower and your liquidation price will be higher.

Use the drop down menu to choose what stablecoin you want to use to open a new position on top of the other. You can use a different asset from the one used to open the trade.\
Once you have set your parameters click the "Open" button. &#x20;
